Georgia, also known as the Peach state, was the 13th and last colony that revolted against the British during the Revolutionary War. Georgia was the fourth state to join the new Union.The largest of the states, in land mass, East of the Mississippi River, Georgia covers an area of 58,910 square miles. Geographically Georgia is a diversified state ranging from the Appalachian Mountains in the North to the marshes of the Atlantic coast in the Southeast and the Okefenokee Swamp in the South.
