Wyoming was admitted to the Union on July 10, 1890. The capital and largest city is Cheyenne. Wyoming has the lowest population density of the lower 48 states with 510,000 residents. It is the 11th largest state in the Union containing 97,818 square miles.
Wyoming is bordered on the north by Montana, on the east by Nebraska and South Dakota, on the south by Colorado, and on the west by Utah and Idaho. The state is home to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks in addition to many other Natural wonders. Wyoming's economy is mostly supported by mining and the Travel and Tourism industry. Yellowstone N. P. alone brings three million visitors to the state annually.
Wyoming does not have an individual or corporate income tax. and does not tax retirement income earned and received from another state. Personal property also is tax exempt.
